But we are preparing for our spring <a href=\"https:\/\/chicksquote.pheasant.com\/?_ga=1.103130054.738996901.1487961373\">pheasant and partridge hatches<\/a> ,because it is almost here!\u00a0 Our first chicks will be available April 2017. We hatch 500,000 chicks a year so we need to prepare. We have a master schedule to assist us in preparation, but also to keep you informed about availability of chicks. Barn preparation is an important step in preparing for spring hatching time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Barn Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pressure wash and disinfect the barn.<\/li>\n<li>Put down shavings and prepare brooders.<\/li>\n<li>Set up feed flats and troughs for new chicks.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare feed system for transition at three weeks.<\/li>\n<li>Set up nipple waterers for new chicks.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the Plasson bell waterer for the three week transition.<\/li>\n<li>Fog the barn the day before the new chicks arrive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have many\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lp.constantcontactpages.com\/sl\/JINTRlu\/guidetopheasantrearing\">chicks<\/a> that leave our farm at a day old. The first chicks will be ready at the beginning of April.<strong>\u00a0If you haven\u2019t received our chick catalog yet, please\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"\/contact\/contact-us\">contact us<\/a><strong>\u00a0and we will send one out<\/strong>. Our chicks are known for their quality genetics and great livability.
